This was a shot I did for YouTuber Rebecca Zamolo this March. The modelling, texturing and sim was done in Houdini (rendered w/ Karma), composited in Nuke, and added an extra bit of color grade, glow, & camera shake in Davinci Resolve. I mainly focused on detailing the CG work, but there were some invisible FX that I felt deserved mentioning as well (caution: avoid filming with logo-covered soccer balls). I experimented with the fracture sim for a while and tried dozens of various looks, but ultimately I tried to keep it simpler and more grounded. The CG ball I created from a photoscan unfortunately didn't get used since I took the destruction in a different creative direction, but definitely looking to have more of a CG presence in my future projects. Overall, still lots to learn, but thrilled that I was able to pull some FX off in a cohesive, 'larger' project.
